Description

Shared partitions are particularly vulnerable because they can be written on by network users, who can unknowingly work with an infected file. When such an infected file arrives on a file server through the partition, the infection spreads with no limits.
The risk of infection on Samba shared partitions is practically eliminated due to RAV AntiVirus for Samba. It scans all files on the Samba shares on-access, both on open and on close. This way the file server is safe when the user creates/opens a file, and after it has been modified.
Due to integration of a cutting edge technology named total platform independence, RAV engine detects all malwares, be it for Windows, Linux or other OS. This is very important, never mind useful, especially when Samba shares are used on a file server, running UNIX in a network with Windows users. Completely configurable using command lines, the antivirus provided by GeCAD Software runs as a service, and is designed to use an internal cache for recently used files, technology that increases speed when the on access scan is performed. Speed is also optimized due to the Integrity Checker technology within the engine that increases the detection speed with more than 50%.
