Windows 11 Review & First Impressions

Windows 11 is already knocking on the door, and we are here to review it and introduce you to its innovative features. However, at the moment, there are only a few available builds that you can install and test the new operating system from Microsoft. Another option is to upgrade your Windows 10 to 11 with a few simple clicks.

But guess what? We already tried Windows 11 in order to assist you with the decision. We will dive deep into the latest Windows and reveal what is new and unchanged compared to Windows 10.

Extraordinary Start Menu

At first sight, you can notice that Windows 11 has a centralized start menu. This is something new compared to all other versions of Windows. On the menu, you can see that all icons have rounded edges, but not only. Even if you open a folder, it will have rounded edges. This is all in the name of the impressive design and layout of Windows 11.

In the released builds of Windows 11, we can also notice that the start menu is more like an android menu. There are more pinned icons with upgraded visuals, and you can add new ones and remove the ones you don’t need. Below the pinned icons in the start menu, you can find recommended files and the most recent ones. This comes in handy, and it is much more efficient compared to Windows 10.

Search Button

Right to the start menu is the search button. The search tab is like the start menu and has more than mobile visuals where you can type and search. Below the search, you can see all of your top applications and the history of your most recent searches. Also, from then you can find the control panel and give a bit of personalization to your Windows 11 or uninstall a program. The search is pretty the same if we compare it to Windows 10. It just has a better styling overall.

Multiple Desktops

The next cool feature of Windows 11 is the customizable desktops that you can create. The button for multiple desktops is next to the search, and from there, you can create or remove a new desktop. On Windows 10, you had to press the windows button on your keyboard and Tab to open the multiple desktop feature. But on the newer version, you don’t have to remember such shortcuts as the feature is right on your taskbar.

The other fantastic thing about Windows 11 multiple desktop features is that you can customize them. For example, you can create a new desktop, right-click it and see the customization options. You can rename it, change the background or move it left or right among the other desktops. The only thing that you cannot change is the icons of your taskbar. It doesn’t matter if you switch to your working or gaming desktop – the icons will remain the same.

Improved Snap Layouts

Windows 11 takes the windows snapping to a whole new level. Now you can click the maximize button of your windows and pick a snapping layout. This gives more flexibility than Windows 10, and it is more efficient and easier to use. On Windows 10, you had to arrange your tabs manually, but with Windows 11, you can pick a layout and arrange your tabs with few clicks. Besides this, you can snap the windows to the top to maximize it or snap it to the left or to the right. This remains unchanged from Windows 10 and helps to arrange the windows on your screen.

Improved Settings Menu

Next, we have the settings menu, which is dramatically changed and made more straightforward. When you open the setting menu, everything is made more accessible. However, you can still use the search to find some of the settings the old way.

On the right side of the settings menu, you can see all the settings categories. And at the bottom, there are the Windows updates, which are also changed. Now windows updates are faster and smaller for install. Additionally, the updates are now once a year, not as they were twice a year. The new and improved settings menu benefits the excellent customer experience and also the ease of use.

Interactive Widgets Panel

The next feature of Windows 11 is not new, and that is the upgraded widgets panel. If you click the widget’s icon, you will notice plenty of helpful information. On the top, you will see a “To Do” list where you can add tasks and organize your time. Next, we have weather and calendar, same as in Windows 10. The difference is that you can customize the widgets and arrange them as you wish. You can remove the ones you don’t need and add more from the “Add Widgets” button.

Upgraded Microsoft Store

One of the best features of Windows 11 is the app store which is significantly changed. You can now download and run android apps without any third-party programs. For example, now you can install Instagram and Tic Toc on your windows and run smoothly. Also, there is more to expect from the Microsoft store because the company encourages more brands to add their apps into the store with minimal charges.

Conclusion

Windows 11 is the next promising operating system from Microsoft, but it is still too early to place big hopes. There are only a few builds, and more significant changes and upgrades are expected. But we can say that Windows 11 has an impressive design and seems more intelligent to use because most of the features are right on your taskbar.
